You can see these Phase 3 sounds on the sound mat sent home with your child’s Parent Evening targets.

Friday 11th September 2020

We have had a fabulous first week back and the children have certainly loved seeing their friends and teachers. For the first fortnight we are assessing the children in reading, writing, phonics and maths, so that we can tailor our teaching to the needs of each child.

We will be updating their reading books accordingly from the week of the 21st and you will also be told then which day is their Reading day. From the 21st September their books will be changed on their Reading day.

In the meantime, please let your child enjoy reading the 5 books in their book bag and their Bug Club books. Asking your child questions about the book is very valuable, such as asking them to suggest a different ending, or a different title, or asking them how a character is feeling and why.

Homework will be given out on a Friday and is to be completed for the following Thursday please. Any worksheets should be completed using a writing pencil. Spellings are also given out on a Friday and their spelling test is on a Thursday.

Thank you in advance for your support this year with your child's learning.
