Children’s Mental Health Week

Monday 1st to Sunday 7th February is Children’s Mental Health Week.  The theme of this year’s week is Express Yourself.  The aim for us as a school is to help children express themselves in different ways through the words they use and the medium they take part in.

Self-expression can help children to showcase themselves – their story, their thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Here is a timetable of recommended activities and resources to enable you to participate in the event at home with your child/ren.

Friday 22nd January 2021

Next week we are taking a mindfulness moment - a moment to be calm and relaxed and a moment to focus on being positive, being happy!

Please see the Mindfulness balloon worksheet.  The sheet tells you about the Mindfulness balloon activity. You do not need to print the sheet.

Work through the Mindfulness balloon activity with your child/ren and then ask your child/ren to think of some things that make them happy.  It could be a person, a place, an activity, a special occasion or something else, like a pet.  Ask your child/ren to draw three large balloons on plain paper and draw three things that make them happy inside the balloons. Ask your child how they feel now? How do they feel after doing this activity?

This work does not need to be submitted to class teachers.
