I love listening to audiobooks! Listening to a story helps me to use my imagination and picture what is happening in the story. I want you to listen to an audiobook and draw an illustration of what you imagine. You can write about your illustration, explaining what inspired you to draw it. Share your work with your teacher for a special reward. We can't wait to see what you draw!

January Challenge

When you read you often answer questions about what you have read. These are called comprehension questions. I want you to be a teacher and write some comprehension questions for a book on Bug Club!

Bug Club is a fantastic way for you to practise your reading because there are lots of books for your band and there are comprehension questions for you to answer in the books!

I’ve chosen a book for each band (see table below). You need to read the story. As you’re reading, start thinking about what your own comprehension questions could be. Once you’ve finished reading, write at least 3 comprehension questions for your book.

Take a photo of your work and email it to Miss Hurst Foundation@st-helens-inf.essex.sch.uk . I will have a go at answering some of your comprehension questions! Make sure you write your name and the title of the book on your work so I know what you have been reading.

I’ve watched the Aldi Kevin the Carrot advert and I think there are some similarities and differences with Stickman by Julia Donaldson!

I’d like you to watch Kevin the Carrot and read or watch Stickman and create a list of the similarities and differences between the two stories. You could write your list, or draw pictures in your list or your gown up could help you record your ideas.

Once you’ve finished, email your work to your year group email.

There are 10 House Points for every entry! I can’t wait to see all the similarities and differences you find in the two stories!
