Friday 4th December 2020

The genre this week is pop. In particular Christmas music. Listen to this song I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday | Live performance - YouTube. Your challenge is to make a musical instrument at home. You can make this as simple or complicated as you would like. Please see 52 Homemade Musical Instruments to Make - FeltMagnet - Crafts for some ideas.  You could even decorate your instrument to be Christmas themed.

Please send into your year group email account either a short video of you using your new instrument with the song or a photo of your new instrument.

This needs to be sent in by Wednesday 16th December and the winners will be announced on Friday 18th December.

Friday 20th November 2020

This week your new genre is reggae. Listen to this piece of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn8wo1rJeCA which is a Disney song in the style of reggae.

Your challenge is to add percussion accompaniment to the piece of music. Please see the video example. You can use a percussion instrument that you may have at home or make your sounds using household objects e.g. a saucepan and a wooden spoon.

Please send in a short video of your music and send it into your year group email address by Wednesday 2nd December. The winners and new challenge will be announced on Friday 4th December.

Friday 6th November

This week we will start with the classical genre.  I would like you to listen to this piece of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE4CATvZ188

Your challenge is to draw a picture while listening to the music. First of all just close your eyes and listen. This is a chance for you to explore your imagination. There is not right or wrong answer it is what you hear and imagine when listening to this piece of music. Then draw your picture it could include patterns and actual picture. When sending in your picture or video it would be great if you could either say or write down what you’ve drawn and why. If you could send it in to your Year group emails by 18th November the winners and new challenge will be announced on Friday 20th November.

I will pick a winner per year group who will receive a special sticker and their name will be published in the winners section of this page.
